DJ Maphorisa went on Made In Lagos Tour as an opening act with Nigerian musician Wizkid.
At the 2021 Music Kwaito and House Music Awards, he was nominated for Best DJ. DJ Maphorisa released Abalete with Kabza De Small and later produced Congolese-born singer TRESOR’s double singles, Nyota and Makosa.
In 2022, he worked with Afrika Memani on the Road To Private EP, released on the 4th of November.
DJ Maphorisa received the African DJ of the Year award at the Soundcity MVP Awards at the Eko Convention Centre in Lagos.
In April 2023, he appeared on the hit single “Mnike” while working with producers Nandipha808, Tyron Dee, Ceeka RSA, and Tyler ICU. The song was number one on numerous South African Billboards.
