Nasty C Age

Nasty C was born on the 11th of February 1997 in Soweto, Gauteng, South Africa. He is currently 28 years of age and usually celebrates his birthday every 11th of February. 

 

Early Life and Education

Nasty C, whose real name is Nsikayesizwe David Ngcobo, was born in Diepkloof, Soweto, Johannesburg, in South Africa. 

Following the demise of his mother, he was forced to relocate to Durban, Kwa-Zulu Natal, to be raised by his father, David Maviyo Ngcobo, a human resource manager.

Nasty C attended Strelitzia Secondary School in Lotus Park, Durban, and Completed his 12th grade. During his stay, he was heavily influenced by his brother, who taught him about music production.

 

Music Career

Nasty C always had the potential and a strong interest in music right from a tender age.

 

2012-2015: Early Beginnings

Nasty C released his debut mixtape titled One Kid, a Thousand Coffins on the 14th of May 2012. Thereafter, he released his debut EP, L.A.M.E (Levitating Above My Enemies), on the 4th of April, 2014.

In 2015, Nasty C released his second mixtape, Price City, which produced the successful single “Juice Back” and helped build his prominence in the industry.

Towards the end of the year, Juice Back was remixed with prominent musicians, including Davido and Cassper Nyovest.

 

2016-2017: Bad Hair

Nasty C released his debut album, Bad Hair, under Mabala Noise Entertainment. For the album’s artwork, he got his fans to email him their portraits revealing their bad hair periods and used a combination of these photos.

Bad Hair reached the number one spot on iTunes and had the most streams in South Africa following its release. 

In 2016, Nasty C released an extended version of Bad Hair named Bad Hair Extensions. It contained four songs, including one which featured American rapper French Montana.

Following his success, he was nominated for the 2017 BET Awards for Best International Act. Sadly, Nasty C lost the award to Nigerian musician Wizkid.

He was further nominated for the 2016 MTV Europe Music Awards and ranked third on the 2016 MTV Base: South Africa’s Hottest MCs.

 

2018: UMG Deals and Strings and Bling

Nasty C signed a distribution deal with Universal Music Africa, which partners with Universal Music South Africa, in February 2018. Following his visit to Nigeria in June, he signed yet another distribution deal with Universal Music Group Nigeria.

Nasty C did this before the pre-released singles Jungle and King from his second album, Strings and Bling. The album was eventually released on the 6th of July 2018 and made available in digital and physical formats.

  Cost of Living in Cape Town 2024

On the 20th of August 2018, Nasty C established his record label, Tall Racks Records. He signed himself and long-term associate singer Rowlene.

He started the Ivyson Tour in Durban, South Africa, which recorded a massive turnout with four shows in South Africa and one in Namibia.

At the end of 2018, Nasty C was ranked in MTV Base: South Africa’s Hottest MCs for a third time and finished in third place.

 

2019-2021: Def Jam, Def Jam Africa and Zulu Man With Some Power

Nasty C made a third installment of his concert tour, The Ivyson Tour, which started on the 20th of September 2019 in Cape Town, South Africa. He released “God Flow” on the 27th of September. 

Billboard reported that Nasty C signed a joint partnership with Def Jam Records with the release of the single “There They Go” as his first under the label.

In 2020, the visual EP Lost Files was presented in clips on YouTube. Nasty C made his acting debut with a cameo in the Netflix African original series Blood and Water and played the role of Zhero. He teamed up with American rapper T.I. for the protest song “They Don’t.” 

After much postponement, on the 6th of August 2020, Nasty C announced on his social media that the album Zulu Man with Some Power would be released in August.

Following the release, he won the Best Male Rap Act Award at the African Muzik Magazine Awards 2020. Yet again, he was ranked third in the MTV Base: South Africa’s Hottest MCs, his fifth time on the list. 

  Gelukbringers Teasers For April 2025

In 2021, Nasty C released “Best I Ever Had.” he received three nominations at the All Africa Music Awards. At the 2021 MTV Base: South Africa’s Hottest MCs list, Nasty C earned third spot again, making it to the list for the sixth time in a row.

 

2022-Present: Ivyson Army Tour, African Throne World Tour, Thick and Thin

Nasty C embarked on the Ivyson Army Tour in May 2022. A month later, he earned a role on the Disney+ series Kizazi Moto: Generation Fire.

Nasty C, together with Cassper Nyovest, announced the African Throne World Tour in May 2023. It ran from the 18th of August until the 28th of October 2023.

In August, Nasty C announced his fourth album, I Love It Here, and upon its release in September, it ranked at number one spot. He and Cassper Nyovest announced their upcoming collaborative album, Thick and Thin, on L-Tido’s podcast in December 2023.

 

Family 

Nasty C remains in a relationship with his childhood sweetheart, Sammie Heavens. He has a son named Oliver David.
